Frequently asked questions
Is the QR bill tool free?
Yes. You can create several QR bills per day for free and without signing up. For unlimited use, there's the API and billr.
Is my data stored?
No. All input is processed in memory only to render the slip, then discarded immediately. No invoice data is stored.
What's the difference between an IBAN and a QR-IBAN?
A QR-IBAN (institution id 30000–31999) is used together with a QRR reference. With a regular IBAN you create a QR bill without a reference or with a SCOR reference.
Which reference do I need – QRR or SCOR?
QRR is the 27-digit Swiss QR reference and is required for QR-IBANs. SCOR (RF…) is the international ISO 11649 reference for regular IBANs. With no reference, leave the field empty.
How many QR bills can I create per day?
The free tool is limited to a few slips per day, and each download (PDF, SVG, PNG) counts. If you need more, use billr or the API.
Is there an API for developers?
Yes. The Swiss QR bill API generates slips programmatically as PDF, SVG or PNG – with one API key and no daily limit.
